This duck cake is quite massive- my regular Victoria sponge recipe uses three eggs. This one took eight.
Another request from my dad's friend, I was shown a picture of a very similar cake and asked 'can you make this?' I said 'er... probably?' I was still entrusted with making it anyway, so I'm glad it turned out okay!
I made one regular and one large Victoria sponge, baked in round tins and sculpted with a knife to form two semicircles. Here's what the cakes looked like after I went at them with the knife and before I frosted and decorated them:
Everything else was made out of fondant, and I used an edible food colouring pen to add the eye details.
